Purpose of Appreciation Letter

Appreciation letter is written to appreciate any friend, relative, client, or an employee to thank them for their kind support and help at any period of time. It is very important to take this initiative to show gratitude and thankfulness. This can either become a ladder to success in the career path and can also help improve relationships.

Element of good Appreciation Letter

• An appreciation letter should have words that are motivating and encouraging. It should be full of thankfulness and heart-warming words that show appreciation.
• It should have a clear description of the contribution made by the reader in the company or any specified help offered.
• Employees who show outstanding performance in the company are also worthy of receiving an appreciation letter.
• The main body of the letter should also offer special thanks along with an award or reward in any possible ways.
• The award need not necessarily be cash payment, gift vouchers, or materialistic gift. It can also include a special statement of appreciation or a certification stating outstanding performance.
• If offering a bonus to the employee do mention the amount or the type of bonus offered.
• Always address your letter to the special person who deserves appreciation. Don’t send a general letter as it reduces your efforts of writing the letter because its impact is greatly reduced.
• The time of sending the letter is also of great importance. It should be send with a prompt action because a later appreciation drastically reduces the impact and influence of an appreciation letter.
• Be true, sincere, and honest in writing an appreciation letter. Keep your words simple and straightforward.
