Purpose of Consent Letter

A letter of consent is a letter that you write when you are giving another person permission to do something on your behalf, such as allowing a neighbor to take a car to college.
Purpose

Element of good Consent Letter

• The letter should be addressed at large, for example, address it to “To Whom It May Concern”.
• Commence with “I/we ………………………… (add in full name)”. Also include your address and other relevant contact details.
• Provide name and address of person to whom you are giving permission.
• Provide details of the activity/action/situation that you are giving permission for.
• Sign the letter in front of a witness. Do not use the person to whom you are giving permission as the witness – find a third person.
