Dear Mr. Brooks,

I am writing to inform you that I want to resign from my position of ‘Sr. Salesman’ in James & Smith Diamond Jewelers.

It has been over five years working here and I must say that it was really a great learning experience. I gained valuable exposure about the industry and have learned a lot of important things in this business.

Recently, I have been offered a new post of ‘Store Manger’ at another Jewelry company. I have accepted this job offer as now I want to work in a senior role. I want to utilize my knowledge & experience with a new & challenging responsibility.

I will be always thankful to ‘James & Smith Diamond Jewelers’ and its staff for their cooperation over these years. I really appreciate the working standards and employee policies of this company and this is really a great workplace.

However, for an old employee like me, it is the right time to move on and look for new challenging roles as that would be a right decision to future proof my career.

I want to know about the required formalities for resignation of an employee, so please inform of anything that has to be done by me to resign.
